Description : When I returned to Seychelles after spending 45 years overseas working in UK, USA, Japan and Europe I was amazed at the way people liked Country music so I decided to make a CD called Nobody's Child and donated all the proceeds to the Children's Home Foundation.
That small act on my part gave me more courage and enthusiasm to take the love of Country music in Seychelles further so I decided to stage a global event.
I invited artistes from around the world to come to Seychelles to take part in a C & w Jamboree. The show was such a success that we are now going to stage it annually in July with this year's show on 23 and 24 July 2011.
In last year's show we had live horses on stage, we created a live stable on stage with two horses a mummy and a baby horse and boy did the kids love it. During Intermission the kids and grown ups as well were led by the Sherrifs on stage to touch the horses and see them at close range. As expected the horses were the star of the show and we were just the stage hands.
This show was hard to stage and I was so stressed to the extent that I forgot the lyrics of songs I have sang for more than 30 years, can you believe it? But at the end of the day I look back and I am happy that I did stage such a show for Seychelles and I planned to do it again this year in July 2011.
Enjoy the video and whilst you are enjoying the video please bear in mind that the Tapestry we use as the backdrop to the stage was painted by the school kids of Mont Fleuri School where I went to school as a small boy so many years ago. The materials for the Tapestry were sponsored by Barclays Bank Seychelles and the school was rewarded by Barclays Bank Seychelles for a job well done. Well done also Barclays Bank Seychelles.
So you see we have so much talents in Seychelles that we need to nurture and grow into fruits of achievement for our society.
So let us do more and let us work together for a better future for our next generation.
